The Golden Lion Hotel is convieniently situated on the A674 at Higher Wheelton. Located halfway between the M61 jct8 and M65 Jct3, we are ideally located between Chorley, Preston and Blackburn.

We have ample car parking to the rear of the premises, and are located on the 124 Stagecoach Timetable Service that runs from Blackburn to Chorley. The nearest bus stop being Bett Lane, Higher Wheelton.

Set in a picturesque setting, we are close to many beautiful walks and stunning open countryside. You can chose from walks along the Leeds - Liverpool Canal, or for the more energtic, the dramatic West Pennine Moors.

We are a dog friendly pub for the well behaved types, so why not bring them along with you for a free doggy snack !
